Located in the heart of the city, the Gendarmenmarkt offers a view of Berlin that combines historical architecture with modern, urban culture. The market got its name because the guard and stables of the “Gens d’Arms” guard regiment were located there in the 18th century. Situated between three monumental buildings, the German and French Cathedrals and the concert hall designed by Schinkel, it is one of the most beautiful squares and trendiest business districts in the capital.
